ZAIA IN PONTE DI PIAVE

«Fa’ presto, vai piano. La vita è un viaggio passo a passo»
The President of the Veneto Region guest of Viticoltori Ponte for the presentation of his new book.

Thursday 21 December, at 6.00 pm, in the Sala Botti at Viticoltori Ponte via Giuseppe Verdi 50 in Ponte di Piave, the President of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia will present to the public his book «Fa’ presto, vai piano. La vita è un viaggio passo a passo». The journalist Domenico Basso will talk to the author.

In this third literary effort, Zaia retraces the memories of his youth when, in the mid-eighties, he was an eighteen-year-old who was starting out in life without ever having set foot outside the province. Strengthened by his dreams as a boy, between the certainties of an existence marked by the rhythms of nature and the unknowns of a world yet to be discovered, he will find himself faced with a reality far more complex than that of the country from which he left. With the distance of maturity and the light-hearted style of adventure stories, he recalls the journey in which for the first time he looked consciously at himself and life, to deliver to young people the beliefs and values that still guide him today. «The experiences we face in life don’t just leave us memories: they are the very essence of each of us’s journey». Retracing the places of that adventure step by step, he compares the possibilities of today with the difficulties of yesterday, the hopes of a generation and the promises of history, between intuitions and desires, expectations and the unexpected. Moving through the streets of Europe on board a 2 Cavalli, he talks about the amazement in the «discovery» of the other, the experience of physical and psychological borders, the truth of a «promised land», Spain, suspended between nostalgia and progress, the confusion in front of the extreme limit, the melancholy of detachment and the freedom of the memory that remains, but adapting to age and experience. The time of the journey expands and in the succession of meetings and events, the thoughts and considerations of those days alternate with images of landscapes and cities, in a profound reflection on how one becomes an adult, on the passion for ideas and for life .

Sometimes the future is a more distant present. A story about responsibility and the ability to open up to the world with wonder, the passion for ideas and respect for traditions, the most important lessons learned from life. A journey (metaphorical and otherwise) through Europe and back in time, an initiation into adulthood, the emergence of a conscience, an invitation to believe in oneself and in tomorrow.

The meeting is part of Ponte’s «Aperitifs at the Winery» which had already seen President Zaia as a protagonist last year on the occasion of the release of the previous book «I pessimisti non fanno fortuna», in addition to the well-known psychiatrist and essayist Paolo Crepet, the actor Kabir Bedi and has many new appointments planned with prominent figures from the world of politics, culture, music and entertainment.
