History

The Ponte winery has been working with the best wine growers of the Veneto region for over 70 years.

Ponte was founded in 1948 as a result of the tenacious determination and ambition of a small group of winegrowers who joined forces to tackle the challenging post-war years and the period of reconstruction. The winemaking company currently boasts 1000 winemaking families farming 3000 hectares of land throughout the Veneto region.

Today we increasingly represent a benchmark in every aspect of our operations, not just production but also on a social, environmental and territorial level.

We have always put people at the centre of everything: the heart of the company is those who work passionately day in, day out, like a big family. This unwavering commitment of one and all is essential in order to offer our clients only the finest wines, spreading the values synonymous with Ponte and the Veneto region around the world.

Territory

We value our territory, the Veneto region.

Over 3000 hectares of vineyards

carpet a vast swathe of land from the slopes of Montello, along the course of the river Piave, all the way to its mouth. These lands once belonged to the ‘Serenissima’ Republic of Venice. The charm and allure of this intriguing past still echoes today among the vineyards and woodlands dotted with sleepy little towns and ancient hamlets.

Nestling between the Adriatic sea

and the Alpine foothills close to Conegliano, our vineyards thrive in the hard clays and light sands typically deposited by the river Piave, which produce optimal soil standards, benefiting also from a particularly favourable climate for winegrowing, characterised by ideal temperature conditions and the right level of rainfall.

The mix of varietals features a distinct prevalence of white grapes, in order of importance Prosecco DOC (basic variety Glera) and Pinot Grigio delle Venezie DOC, followed by Chardonnay and Manzoni. As regards red grapes, the main varietals are Merlot and Cabernet, in addition to Raboso, the typical autonomous vine of the Piave river area.

Since the company's launch, the founding partners

have always devoted great attention to the winery’s invaluable social role in the promotion of cultural, recreational and sporting activities.
Today, we continue to pledge a commitment to valuing the social and territorial context by supporting numerous local and national initiatives that promote our same ideals of ethics, respect, passion and commitment.
Here at Ponte, our next goals focus on building success in international markets, confident that the ideals that have always been our driving force are also the key to future success.

CERTIFIED QUALITY

The best grapes come from strong roots.

Important national and international certifications guarantee the fine quality of our wines. We have obtained the prestigious FSSC 22000 certification, which guarantees the quality of the entire production and bottling process. It also guarantees agri-food safety standards at every step of the supply chain.

Our organic production labels have obtained the Certificate of Conformity from the Suolo e Salute inspection and certification body.

In addition, all our products are BRC (British Retail Consortium) and IFS (International Food Standard) certified, meeting the exacting standards developed by European retailers to qualify their suppliers in accordance with requirements of quality, safety and compliance with regulations governing the agri-food sector.

RESOURCES

All the aroma of whites, reds and rosés. From bunch to bottle.

All our winemaking operations are carried out using cutting-edge processing technologies that turn our grapes into fine wines, safeguarding character, bouquet and typicality.

Viticoltori Ponte currently boasts four collection and winemaking sites, each equipped with processing technologies and an extensive wine shop, selling the entire range of wines produced.

The Basso Piave Winery in Eraclea and the Caposile Winery are both located in the province of Venice, while the province of Treviso is home to the Trevigiana Winery in Villorba and the main Ponte di Piave headquarters which also houses the bottling plant.

The state-of-the-art pressing plant guarantees superior processing of the grapes and a more refined end product which highlights the organoleptic characteristics of the grapes used.

After the winemaking, a small selection of wines are matured in French oak barriques, the spumante bases are kept on the lees in thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks, while ordinary table wines are stored in concrete tanks.

The wineries produce white, red and rosé wines, preserving their aromas by means of temperature-controlled fermentation.

Winemaking tradition and innovation that respect nature.

This is the secret behind our grapes. Proud of our roots and our traditions, we protect our past whilst always looking to the future. We respect the land with balanced agricultural practices, thanks to the use of innovative winemaking technologies.

Ponte wine represent honesty, respect, care, attention, safeguarding the environment as well as human resources.
